inbetween I wanna show you a bit from singapore where I live now. below is a panoramic shot done at south beach, showing the hundreds of ships waiting to get into the harbor and on the right the financial district with the new bay sands hotel. it is a beautiful city offering the best like every other metropole in the world combined with a southern vacation feeling and an incredible climate.

when I did the several hours long two boat-trips on the pasig river through manila earlier this year in march and june I did not intend to shoot any 3-D pictures. there were too many motifs changing on the left and right side of the boat and I was busy enough not to miss anything. but, because i shot in total nearly 1.000 pictures, there were accidentally several 3-D possible ones, when I checked all of them recently. the movement of the boat gives you the same result as if you are moving yourself for the distance of the necessary 2 pictures, you just have to have enough shots of the same motif after another. the only two things missing here is the extreme heat on these days of close to 40 degrees/celsius and the smell of the river. enjoy – hope you have red/blue glasses…

in the late seventies I took my first 3D pictures, on color-slide film so I could look at them in a modified VIEWMASTER viewer. I used only one camera and took 2 pictures pointing at the same center, from eye-distance to more than 30 meters apart. for example on the empire state building from the far left and far right side of the viewing platform, or during a flight in 32.000 feet height with a distance of 10 seconds waiting time between the two shots. only recently I found out about the ANAGLYPH technique, where you can create 3D pictures in PHOTOSHOP and look at them on your computer-screen with RED/BLUE-glasses.
today I start my ANAGLYPH-series with a few of the 3D pictures I did recently on my europe trip. you need RED/BLUE-glasses to see them 3-dimensionally. the blue has to be on your right eye side. enjoy!

following an invitation for lectures at the university in salzburg I spent the last three weeks in salzburg, as well as in southern germany with it’s baroque street, parts of the austrian alps, the black forest and the route du vin in alsasse. from the 3.000 pictures I took I am planning to post a selection within the next months. as a start some impressions from salzburg and around the beautiful city.

a few years ago I put together a 216 pages photo-book in layout, with my photographs and some faked text. when all the pages were finished and I was supposed to write the text, I lost interest. so, the only thing that is left is this faked photoshop-book-version. don’t try in amazon or somewhere else – it doesn’t exist. here are now some of the double pages, I will post more the coming months.

the word DIGIPAINTOGRAPHY is a fantasy creation, a mix of ‘digital’, ‘painting’ and ‘photography’. all images started as photographs. I used in nearly all of them a combination of several digital paint software. and sometimes the result looks even better than the original photo.
